Biography
Able Archer is an inventive modern rock act that lifted its name from a 1983 NATO war exercise/simulation. The Denver, Colorado-based quartet formed in the summer of 2007 when guitarist, Chad Lindburg; bassist, Chris Callaway; and drummer, Mike Becker, decided to seek a new musical experience after five years of performing together. The trio recruited vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Matt Huseman, formerly of Sire Records’ The Greenberry Woods and indie rockers Splitsville, and started performing soon after.

Since their inception, Huseman and company have constructed compositions that effectively mix gorgeous pop hooks, challenging chord structures, introspective lyrics, bursts of sonic energy, and computer-aided elements to keep their music unpredictable and non-formulaic. The band’s October 2008 debut Public Records release, a five-song EP titled EP01, is a testimony to these elements. Clocking in at less than 20 minutes, this self-produced/recorded/mixed disc demands repeated listens.
