Biography
AARON WOLFSON

Hey there. I grew up in Laurel Canyon around people who started the Monterey Pop Festival.
And it’s always seemed inevitable that my life’s purpose is to write and perform rock music.
Had my first band at 10 years old, and I have never stopped. The spirit of the times when I
was growing up, taught us that we can help make this a better world. And, I do believe this.

CAREER

Presently, I am writing and producing music for new network TV series “Justified, ” on the Fox Network.

I have arranged, produced and engineered recording for many independent artists.
Was the President, CEO, and owner of Sound Investment Recording Studios. (A professional, commercial facility).
I have been a signed recording artist twice, and offered a contract to write and produce for Stevie Wonder's "One Direction Music."
I have taught music since I was 18 years old; including major label artists Lenny Williams (Tower of Power); and A&M artist Chris Montez.

Some of my professional credits include work with:

Jimmy Haskell, (Steely Dan, Sheryl Crow), Michael Masser, (Whitney Houston) Stacey Lattisaw, Grammy Award winner David Paich (TOTO), Boz Skaggs, Mike Kowalski (The Beach Boys).

I have been blessed to work with some of the greatest musicians of our times from the bands of Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles, and Duran Duran. (Complete list at www.aaronwolfson.com.)

As a film composer, my music is featured in “Purple Haze,” the Sundance Grand Prize winning film, and worked on movie trailers for “Body of Evidence” (Madonna), “Groundhog’s Day,” (Bill Murray), and many more.

I’ve produced work for network ABC television with Chris Mancini, MTV, and commercials for T. J. Martel Foundation for Cancer research.

As a recording artist I first had success with my band “Aaron Wolfson & The Chemicals.” My song “Czechoslovakia,” voted as one of the best new bands in Southern California by listeners of radio station KROQ 106.7FM.

I was first inspired by great British rock bands and American blues artists. I love any music that is done with real intelligence and passion. I try to create songs that are easy to listen to, with improvised guitar solos, giving the audience an experience of something real; and that is being created in the moment.

I also play bass and keyboards and have produced other artists. I’ve got an extensive catalogue and library of songs and music: Rock, jazz, country, blues, classical, and instrumental music.

EDUCATION

I studied at Musicians Institute (GIT), LA Valley College, The Dick Grove School of Music (a professional music school), studied with film composer Dr. Albert Harris, and at seminars at USC.  I studied guitar with Jimmy Wybol (Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys), John Collins (Billie Holiday; Nat King Cole; Dizzy Gillespie), Ted Greene (guitar master), and Charlie Shoemake (George Shearing).

LIVE EXPERIENCE

I’ve performed locally as well as internationally at: The Roxy Theater, The Whisky, Club Med Resorts, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Tangier, McCabe’s, Malibu Inn, Platinum Live, Celebrity Center, Molly Malone’s, Safari Sam’s, Backstage Coffe Gallery, Kulak’s Woodshed, Club Lingerie, Redondo Beach Pier, Valley College, Long Beach College, Ceritos College, UCLA, Trousdale Estates, Beverly Hills, Topanga Canyon, Encino, Palos Verdes, West Hills.

BAND

My band members are Chris Lammers on drums, Leo Valenzuela on bass, and I play guitar and sing. I write the songs, and these guys help bring them to life.

We have been working together since 2007. Our first show together was completely unrehearsed. Our second show was The Roxy Theater here in Los Angeles.

We have a loyal following that is steadily growing.

CD

Several of the songs from my current CD, titled “AARON WOLFSON,” have reached #1:

“DADDY’S GONE AWAY, #1 on NEIL YOUNG’s website, “Living with War Today (videos).
And, “YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE,” #1 on SongVault.fm.com.

I hope to soon record my best songs, which have not been recorded or released.

"Radio Creds" are votes awarded to artists by radio programmers who have downloaded their music and have been impressed with the artist's professionalism and the audience's response to the new music. Creds help artists advance through the AirPlay Direct community.

Only radio accounts may add a Radio Cred. One week after the track has been downloaded the radio account member will receive an email requesting a Cred for each artist they've downloaded.
