AND ANOTHER THING New Hampshire-raised Brendan James learned piano and songwriting at college in North Carolina; he later moved to Manhattan, where he surreptitiously practiced piano in hotel ballrooms. His songs have been heard on Private Practice, Bones, Army Wives and others, and he’s played with Joss Stone, Corinne Bailey Rae, Robert Cray, Keb’ Mo’ and his mentor, Carly Simon. James’ self-titled sophomore CD follows 2008’s The Day Is Brave.
