John Greska - Sweater Aesthetic
I come in many colors
I come in many styles
I come around the fall when all the leaves come down in piles
I don't need your protection
That's what you say to me
And still I get so frayed concealing you from week to week

I come in many sizes
I come in different threads
I come when winter starts and parts of you get lost in dread
You know you're thankful for me even though I'm a chore
You tried once to go without me but you won't do that anymore

But then the summer starts again and you don't need me then
Just hide me away

Zip me up and pull on my strings
Hide all the dirty little things
You want me to
They don't know but I do
Lumberjack beards and tye-dye shirts but underneath it all is a monster lurking
Silently
They don't know what I see

The leaves start growing back and
You are more comfortable
With letting sun come in
It hits your skin and head and all
You're starting to get warmer
I loved the times we had
But nothing lasts forever
For your future I am glad

And then the summer starts again and you won't need me then
Just hide me away

Zip me up and pull on my strings
Hide all the dirty little things
You want me to
They don't know but I do
Lumberjack beards and tye-dye shirts but underneath it all is a monster lurking
Silently
They don't know what I see

Think of me, stay with me
Think of me
