Stone In My Shoe
Stone In My Shoe
(c) Tim Crosby, BMI

1. There’s a stone in my shoe, now with every step I take
It changes the way that I walk
I used to be so graceful, I could dance the whole night through
Now there’s a stone in my shoe

[cho] I know it’s just a pebble, but it’s in the wrong place
Would that I could simply unlace
Then with only a gentle tap or two
Lose this stone in my shoe

2. There’s a boulder in the pass through the last mountain range
That leads to where I thought that I would go
I could almost see that pleasant valley yonder in the blue
But there’s a stone in my shoe

3. There’s a rock in my pocket to remind me where I’ve been
Reflect on every step along the way
I tell myself it’s better now; perhaps that’s really true
But there’s a stone in my shoe
