Days of Christmas Time
“Days of Christmas Time”
Wild West folklorist Hal Cannon delivers a brilliantly unusual holiday song with one foot in the past and one very much in the present. “Days Of Christmas Time” is a lilting brass-peppered modern folk song that builds on the 1860’s Gold Rush song “Days Of ‘49”. In this incarnation our protagonist is Santa looking at us from the streets, his eyes saddened as he watches the season of light dimmed by greed and selfishness.
“The Days Of Christmas Time” is taken from Cannon’s upcoming album Nothin’ Lastin’, due in 2021.
“An absolute triumph of the human spirit” Van Dyke Parks on Nothin’ Lastin’
“Highly original and inspired” - Cowboys & Indians
“The music seeps into your ears the way a good medicine seeps into your body and does some good work” - No Depression
