Biography
Lucas started his career in entertainment early, dancing on pre-school lunch tables and performing stand-up and rock concerts at family gatherings. His addiction to attention grew into a passion for entertainment, fueled by the rush of performing to an energetic crowd. As he began to realize his potential in music, his focus remained not on fame, nor money, but on the rush of bringing a crowd to their feet. With seemingly infinite energy, and a knack for engaging an audience, Lucas has gained a reputation as a solid entertainer and front man.

Cook released his self-titled debut EP and first radio single: “Austin State of Mind” to the Texas Music Chart in fall 2010. The freshman release broke the top 100 and landed at #92, an uncommon occurrence for a first single. This up-tempo tune is pretty indicative of the feel-good vibe that Lucas infuses into his work and his shows.

In spring 2010, Lucas signed a publishing deal with Firstcom/Universal music. He recorded songs for TV and film placement with Austin producer Steven Doster (Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett and Double Trouble) and since their release Lucas' songs have been placed internationally on TV shows and radio commercials. "I've seen changes" has made several appearances nationally on Aarons Sport's Outdoors and Access Hollywood.

Today, Lucas performs original music with a Texas style that spans many genres, his music a unique blend of Southern Rock, Funk and Soul. Just when you think it can’t get more eclectic, the boy drops a song completely in Spanish. ¡Simon!

“I don’t want to find success in the music industry based on which producer I work with and how much I spend to record and promote an album. What matters most to me is offering a product that represents me and my sound. I want fans to connect with me and my hope is that my success will be based on the integrity of the music.” Said Cook.

In a time of over-produced, auto-tuned, cookie cutter music, it is increasingly difficult to find original music that pleases the ears and the soul. Lucas Cook’s “Toe Tapper” (released spring 2012) is loaded with infectious grooves, catchy hooks and killer harmonies. This album will get your toes tapping, head bopping and soul shining.

Lucas and his band "The Collection" perform as the house band on the Bling Johnson Show.
