Biography

Originally from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Leslie Mills got her start fronting the New York based rock band To The Moon Alice (A&M Records), touring the East coast college & music festival scene & landing slots on the H.O.R.D.E tour. The band broke up, and Mills moved to Nashville where she met Australian songwriter Chris Pelcer, who would become her longtime collaborator. She signed as a writer to Paul McCartney's publishing company MPL & signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. While working on songs for her solo project, she co-wrote the single "Just Like Love" for the Multi-Platinum artist Peter Cetera and "Rule the World" for Cetera's album A Perfect World.

Her debut pop/rock album Different for Girls (2003) included producers such as David Kahne, John Shanks, and co-productions by Mills and Pelcer. Mills' songs appeared in films and soundtracks such as What A Girl Wants, White Oleander, PowerPuff Girls. She left Atlantic in 2004, but continued to write songs for television & film including multiple songs for Mattel's Barbie & MyScene DVDs. Mills formed Tiny Violet Records and released her second album, Everlasting Road (Adult Alternative/Pop) in 2007.

Her third album, Falling Off The World (Adult Alternative/Pop) released in 2009, along with a compilation release of some of her upbeat film soundtrack songs called "Feel Like La: The Hollywood Collection" (Pop/Rock). Also in 2009, Mills performed as a featured artist on the Yanni Voices tour of the US, Canada and Mexico & in two PBS television specials. She co-wrote four songs on the "Yanni Voices" CD and two of the songs on Yanni's follow-up album Truth of Touch. After the tour ended Mills began acting in films, and has since starred in four feature films slated for release in 2012.

Mills' first Holiday release, I Love This Christmas (2011), turns to a more relaxed & Adult Contemporary feel, with soothing vocals, beautiful melodies, and sentimental lyrics. The four song EP features two Christmas classics & two Holiday originals.
