Biography
Just when you think you’ve heard it all, something comes along to prove you wrong. Listening to Citizen Charlie is one of those rare occasions. It’s classic rock, it’s a raspy female voice, nothing new so far.
But it’s all in the attitude, the melodies, and the lyrics. She doesn’t put on an act, she doesn’t need to prove herself to anyone, and she has the confidence that she’s all that without resorting to the traditional female take on rock. Rock’n’ roll is her second nature.

Starting out in 99 with the hardrock band Charlie’s Drugstore, she built up a fierce reputation as a kickass character onstage, with a raw edgy voice.
Charlie’s Drugstore was laid to rest in 2006, as she puts it:

”We had some great fun over the years, but tensions grew after continuous delays while we were recording our debut album. Finally it came to a dead stop, when the guitarist and myself got into a heated argument over who’s first in line for the bathroom in the studio. A proud spinal tap moment there”

After the split she kept on jamming throughout the music scene of Oslo, and
suddenly found herself playing AC/DC's "Highway to hell" with
guitarist/producer Arvid Solvang.
The encounter marked the beginning of a rewarding song writing collaboration.
Recording of the debut-album "Prosthetic Attitude" was completed in august
of 2007.

"Cheater" is the first single to be released. The classic rock tune is
inspired by the legendary riffs of Angus Young, with a lyric marking the
ambivalence of being caught up in an endless courting game. Her voice ranges
from the panache of Bon Scott, to the fragility of Patti Smith.

"Beer and rock'n'roll" is a feel good ode to exactly that; beer and music,
preferably experienced at some rain drained Rock festival.

When asked what compels her to write and sing, she has the refreshing
audacity to say:
" I've grown up with rock'n'roll and though there's a lot of great female
artists out there, I have yet to have heard the equivalent of Robert Plant,
Bon Scott, Lemmy or Axl Rose. I may not succeed, but I'll sure as hell die
trying"
