Biography
Big LLou Johnson was born and raised on the rough and tumble west side of Chicago. He is often compared to the likes of Barry White and Isaac Hayes. His sultry bass voice has appeared on numerous tv and radio commercials and he has appeared on stages across the US and Europe performing blues, choral, pop, R&B and gospel touring with the likes of Albertina Walker, The Barrett Sisters and the Oak Park Concert Chorale.

Big LLou has appeared as a guest vocalist on numerous projects but "They Call Me Big LLou" is the first solo effort from this emerging and versatile artist, whose influences include the likes of Howlin Wolf, Willie Dixon and Barry White, which he pays tribute to with Keith Stewart's arrangement of "Your Sweetness is my Weakness".

Some of his film credits include “Barbershop I & II” with Ice Cube as well as “Let's Got to Prison” starring Dax Sheppard and Will Harnett. He has also been a featured vocalist on soundtracks from "Dorota Jarema" of Warsaw, Poland and "The Longshot Sessions - The Soul of R&B" a compilation of Chicago top male R&B singers. "His single and the subsequent remix of "Step Wit Chu" became a radio & club favorite with steppers and true R&B fans across the globe. He is also a featured vocalist on the CD "Bound to Go" with Chicago folk music favorite Andrew Calhoun & Campground.

He is a sought after emcee, hosting some of the biggest events in blues including, The Blues Music Awards in Memphis, The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise as well as festivals across the US. As the beloved voice of BB King's Bluesville on Sirius XM satellite radio, Big LLou and one of Chicago's most sought after voice over artists, he credits that long-time association as the reason he fell in love with the blues all over again!
