Biography
Born on the Texas-Louisiana border the members of American Sons have been life long friends. Raised in a small town near Beaumont, made famous by the likes of Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnutt, Clay Walker and Janis Joplin just to name a few.. these guys have been no strangers to hard work and hard times. Growing up in an oil refining hot spot on the gulf coast meant you grew up with a shovel or a hammer in your hand. However, in the deep south, when you work hard you play even harder! Shane Droddy (vocals) grew up being a huge fan of classic country music. While Droddy was cutting his teeth on the classic country gold, Jason Touchette (lead guitar/vocals) was discovering bands like KISS, Bad Company, AC/DC and still jamming to the classic soul tunes of Stevie Wonder...basically whatever he could get his hands on.
It wasn't long after and Touchette soon decided to hit the road with his rock band PoDunk and had major Billboard success sharing the stage with rock legends like Buck Cherry, Motley Crew, Peter Frampton, Saliva and Alice in Chains... while Droddy put his efforts into football and a tour in the US Air force. When they finally re-united in the summer of 2012 at Gruene Hall in historic Gruene Texas, they came to the conclusion it was time to finally do what they had talked about all these years...and hence American Sons was born.
They brought the idea to another life long friend Producer Paul Soroski and entered the studio just knowing they wanted to make a fun loving, hard rocking country record. That's when the magic happened. Mixing Touchette's southern, in your face, flying guitar riffs with Droddy's subtle country twang the outcome was country music with a party spirit that any true red blooded American can appreciate.
Following the groundswell of support in Beaumont, live shows were in demand. To round out the band, Frankie Randazzo was added on keys, Jakob Robles on drums, and Todd Conger on bass. All masters of their respective instruments and seasoned veterans in the Texas music scene.
American Sons is country music with rock roots at it's finest with the soul of your favorite Texas red dirt artist. American Sons delivers what Nashville has been trying to do for years and they deliver it in a way that can only come from Texas boys. Packed with soaring guitar riffs and melodic lyrics that make you want to jump out of your seat and sing along. This debut album is sure to please your ears for years to come.
