Rock-N-Rick & The RoadMasters rocks the blues at the Crossroads of America- Salina, Kansas,
Kansas City native Richard Patterson has been playing guitar and singing blues for over 20 years! In 1989, the band Rock-N-Rick and The RoadMasters was formed and is still going strong.
Rick got his break when Sherman Robertson invited him to tour with his band and Johnny “ Clyde ” Copeland. Sherman Robertson can be seen in a clip from the movie “The Big Easy”, playing with Terrance Simien and the Mallot Playboys. Johnny “ Clyde ” Copeland, also known as the Texas Twister won a Grammy with Albert Collins and Robert Cray called “Show Down”.
There have been so many members that it would be hard to list them all! It was Chicago ’s Legendary Saxophonist, Abb Locke that Rock-N-Rick did national and international shows with. Some of the great musicians Rick has played and toured with include: Abb Locke, Leon Estelle, Glenn Patrik, Bob Schnebelen, Mike Malone's Soul Collectors, Sherman Robertson (The Guitar Man), Jimmy D. Lane and Johnny Clyde Copeland (Texas Twister). Copeland’s collaboration, “Show Down”, with Albert Collins and Robert Cray won a Grammy!
Leon Estelle, Glenn Patrik, Johnny Copeland and Sherman Robertson have not only been friends, but teachers.
“If not for the Kansas City talent- which I feel is as good as it gets- and God- to whom I owe my love and gratitude- none of this would be possible,” Rick said.
Rock-N-Rick & The RoadMasters have played club and headlined festivals, from Jono's in Sioux Falls , South Dakota to the Paola Roots Festival in Paola , Kansas !
Their first recorded project to be available is “Rock-N-Rick- Beat A Demon 12 Steps From Hell” This CD is soon to be released. A special edition will be available when Rick-N-The RoadMasters rock Salina , Kansas on Friday, October 19th at the Blue Goat- 232 N. Santa Fe- from 9:30pm-1:30am & Saturday, October 20th at the Koyotee Lounge- 501 N 5th St.
“I have to say that no words can describe how great it was to have my friends and family, Trampled Under Foot (www.tufkc.com) - a first class act all their own, backing me in the studio. In fact, it was their father, the “Late” Robert Nicholas Schnebelen, that inspired the song “Beat A Demon”, along with Steve McBride, owner/operator of Sound Gate Productions, whose talent and guidance is the best,” Rick said
