ABOUT FUTURE TV THEMES AND JINGLES
I was given a challenge by my producer, Sylvia Massy to come up with a batch of the catchiest instrumental songs possible. She said to make each one like a TV show theme or commercial song. These songs are the result of that.

1. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR (01:20)
I was working on mixing this song while staying at my cousin, Anita's house. She frequently used the expression, "Shut the front door". That's where I got the title for this one.

2. LET'S TAKE THIS OUTSIDE (02:22)
I was at my cousin Anita's house, mixing this album. She had a patio with chair cushion that had this saying printed on it: Let's Take This Outside. I thought it was perfect for the song.

3. ZIP LINE TO BROOKLYN (01:41)
This song reminds me of the chaos and hustle of NYC. I imagined zip lining over it all, looking down.

4. HONEY LEMON COLA (01:17)
I woke up one morning about 5am with a melody and these words going over and over in my head: "Oh Pepsi Cola, honey lemon tea. Oh Pepsi Cola, honey lemon tea. Oh Pepsi Cola, honey lemon tea., for you, for me."
I got up, got my phone recorder and guitar and recorded it so I wouldn't forget it and went back to bed.
I changed the title to avoid any legal issue with using Pepsi Cola.

5. TIED THE KNOT (02:04)
I originally wrote this song with words about a man who adores his wife, but never felt comfortable with 'love lyrics'. I'm a goofy/witty guy at heart and didn't want to put out a 'serious' love song. But I LOVE the melodies in this song, so I recorded this instrumental version.

6. NO SLEEP TIL MIAMI (01:52)
The energy of this song reminded me of being in the heart of downtown Miami and all the people who love that energy. Then I envisioned someone from Miami who was away traveling and couldn't wait to get back home.

7. HOLIDAY IN THE RAIN (02:46)
My producer, Sylvia Massy will ocassionally give a list of song titles and ask me to write songs for each one. This was one of those exercises.

8. JUNO TAKES A RIDE (01:37)
I wrote this song for my adorable dog, Juno who loves to ride in fast cars with her head out the window.

9. BEASTIE GIRLS (01:37)
I wrote this about a friend who is a young woman 'bad ****' who is smart, funny, witty, clever, very physically fit and doesn't have time for whiners or complainers. Some of our friends call her a beastie girl, named playfully after the loud rock band, Beastie Boys.

10. NO VACANCY (02:06)
This song is named after the Merle Travis song of the same name. My wife loves that song and she wanted to name one of my instrumental songs. She listened to them all and picked this one to give it the name, No Vacancy.

11. THE END IS FAR (02:27)
I write this as a play on the age old doom and gloom warning, "The End is Near!" I thought, what if it's not? What if the end is far?

LUCKY DOUG FERGUS BIOGRAPHY
In addition to being a bassist, vocalist, lyricist, songwriter, comedian and good cook, Doug is an accomplished tambourine sharpener.
Doug is driven to create music that is quirky, fun, thought-provoking, and in some way inspiring.
He has been inspired by some of his favorite comedians and musicians: Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, the Talking Heads, Devo, Weird Al Yankovic, Warren Zevon, Primus and Frank Zappa.

Doug began his music career in 1982 with the Los Angeles band, Split Image and was signed to Allied Artists Records.
In 2012 his band Naked in Public opened for Cyndi Lauper at the Britt Festival in Oregon.
Most of his songs were recorded and produced by legendary producer Sylvia Massy (Red Hot Chile Peppers, Prince, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash).

His songs with his bands Naked in Public, Lucky Doug and the Stinkbugs and Lucky Doug Fergus can be found on nearly all digital platforms including Pandora, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and have been played on Sirius XM and hundreds of college radio stations across Canada and the US.

Doug loves puppy dogs, bubble baths, and long candle lit walks on the beach. He believes his role in life is to share his joy for living and his “If life hands you a lemon, make lemonade” outlook. Oh, and he’d like to thank Gosh.

From Jake at Roctober Magazine:
“Odd quirk-rock truth telling through poppy songs that sound like weirdo novelty rock but are really life lessons that are actually funnier than real novelty rock.”
