Biography
Junkyard was dirtier and blusier than most of their counterparts, combining equal parts Southern rock, boogie-woogie and self-destruction as evidenced on their 1989 hits “Hollywood” and “Simple Man”.
High Water marks their first full length album in 26 years and cements the authenticity of their first two records. Singer and founding member David Roach explains, “This album is not a departure; it’s a rock ‘n’ roll record from Junkyard with songs about life, love, regret, addiction and memories.”
Featuring such memorable tracks as the soul-searching “Styrofoam Cup”, dirgy rockers “Cut From The Same Cloth”, “Faded” and “W.F.L.W.F.” and the relentlessly paced “Wallet”, Junkyard’s classic sound got some help from fan and friend Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), who penned the dramatic, forthright statement “Till the Wheels Fall Off” specifically for the band.
The album sessions also yielded additional tracks, included on a Limited Edition Gatefold CD of High Water, which sold out in less than a week online - available on AirPlay Direct!
