J.E. MAINER & THE MOUNTAINEERS – OLD TIME MOUNTAIN MUSIC - THE LEGENDARY J.E. MAINER, VOLUME 1

OLD TIME MOUNTAIN MUSIC - THE LEGENDARY J.E. MAINER, VOLUME 1, originally released in 1967 was produced by Lee Sutton and features the 70 year old fiddler’s folk and hillbilly classics. In 1968, reviewer Joe Hickerson wrote, “The overall spirit and quality of the album should be a lesson to some of the younger active recording artists…” Now, over 75 years later these great old songs are available again to enjoy on OLD TIME MOUNTAIN MUSIC - THE LEGENDARY J.E. MAINER, VOLUME 1.

Most of the songs on the album are great old songs made popular by many Old Time & Country music legends like Uncle Dave Macon “Watermelon On The Vine”, Ticklish David; Bradly Kincaid “Hoop It Up Liza Jane”; Charlie Poole “Sweet Sunny South”; Vernon Dalhart “Kenny Wagner”; Riley Puckett “Don’t Cry Honey”; Skillet Lickers “Rock The Cradle, Lucy”; Grandpa Jones “Stayed In The Wagon Yard”; Roy Acuff “Oh! Those Tombs” and many more.

J.E. Mainer recorded twenty albums for Rural Rhythm Records in the late 60’s and early 70’s with Lee Sutton as producer. MOUNTAIN MUSIC - THE LEGENDARY J.E. MAINER, VOLUME 1, was the first of these albums and was originally released in 1967.
