Biography

About Greg Ward

Arkansas native, singer songwriter Greg Ward was born in Little Rock Arkansas. The family moved in with his grandparents, after his father was killed by a drunk driver.

Greg’s grandfather was always singing and making up riddles and songs. He was a big influence in Greg’s life and wanted him to learn how to play guitar. Greg can remember trying to write his first song as early as Second Grade. He taught himself to play guitar from books or anyone that would teach him something. It wasn't long before he was playing in a gospel band and would do benefits and raise money to help people. Greg then began playing in a country southern rock band and was also writing all the time. This led to Greg making frequent visits to Nashville playing open mics, or anywhere that he could play his songs.

Greg has performed with Tanya Tucker, Collin Raye, T.G. Sheppard., Marty Haggard, and many more. He is a welcomed artist at the major rooms in Nashville, festivals, as well as rooms throughout the states.

About Hallelujah Express

Songwriter Fran MacLeran befriended Pat, an office cleaning lady. Pat suffered a stroke and returned to work sooner than she probably should have. Several months later, on a Friday night, Fran realized Pat was looking much better and said to Pat: “you look so much better”, to which Pat responded: “thank God, I do feel much better”.

That next morning Fran woke and had this strong urge to write. She looked through her “hook book” and Hallelujah Express really spoke to her, and Fran wrote Hallelujah Express. On Monday morning Fran met a mutual friend who said: “did you hear what happened to Pat?” That’s when Fran was told that Pat died about 30 after speaking with Fran.

A week later Fran went to the “Going Home” service for Pat, which was the first Going Home service she ever attended. The preacher was telling the story that Fran had told in Hallelujah Express. That’s when Fran realized whom her co-writer was, the best co-writer anyone can have.
