Biography
Brandon Luedtke hails from Texas, and began writing songs when he was twelve and was given his first guitar. He was born in Dallas and raised due east in the smallest county in the state, but has also resided in Nebraska for a few years and New York City a semester (where he studied the music scene and open mics most intensively).
Now 26, Brandon has lived in Austin for the last seven years, and during this time has played in bands like Roosevelt's Goody Bag, Honey Baby, and Shane Smith and the Saints briefly on the fretless bass. He has been performing solo throughout this time, and lately more than ever before.
His songs are centered around his acoustic guitar and voice. His style and approach to songwriting carries elements of traditional folksongs, and the torch of the Texan troubadour, forward into modern relevance.
After touring through the east coast and back on the Damn Dirty Tour with blues trio Mother Merey and the Black Dirt, Brandon Luedtke's first EP was released in 2014 (A Self-Titled EP, Salient Sounds). He was was awarded 'Best Singer/Songwriter (Male)' at Viva Terlingua Festival later in the year.
Luedtke has been working to finish and fund his debut LP, Morning Light, without a label while still performing and always working on new songs . On April 14, 2017, physical copies of the record were made available at the Hole in the Wall, and the bill for that was evening full of the friends and exceptional local musicians who are featured on the record. And so much awaits beyond the horizon.
