Biography
The Betty Swain Project is a special event album featuring country icon Lynn Anderson alongside music row veterans and country newcomers. The project ultimately fulfilled a lifelong dream for its originator, Betty Swain and her family. The Betty Swain Project started in 2011 after 85-year old Betty rediscovered her folder of song lyrics. Her lifelong dream was to finally hear her lyrics put to music. The project’s complete 12 song album is set to release this month through Center Sound Records.

The Betty Swain Project was initiated by singer-songwriter Jim Paul who helped produce the first demos of Betty’s music. While Betty passed away before the demos reached full production, the team chose to continue her dream and produce the album.

“You kids have given me something you will never understand and I will never be able to put into words,” said Betty. “Thank you so much. You have put the period at the end of my life.”

The Betty Swain Project would find a final home with the Raleigh-based music company, Center Sound Records, which assembled the production team---Emmy®-nominated producer Craig Brandwynne, GRAMMY®-winning musician and producer Robin Ruddy, Gene Podsiadlo and Tim Daher. The album features vocal performances from Grammy winner Lynn Anderson, Highway 101’s Nikki Nelson, CMT and Grand Ole Opry featured vocalist Kim Parent, “American Idol” finalist Siobhan Magnus, Loni Rose, Marissa Begin, Taylor Watson, Brittini Black and Devin Belle. The first release from the project will be the Lynn Anderson lead track Sweet Memories.
