RBR Entertainment
is pleased to announce the signing of Grammy Award winning artist Gary Nichols and the release of his new single “Fire in the Dark”.

“Man, I’m so excited to be making music again. I haven’t recorded an album since the ‘Muscle Shoals Recordings’ with The SteelDrivers back in 2014. So much has happened since then and I can’t wait to tell you about it,” said Gary Nichols, RBR Recording Artist. “When Billy Droze and I started writing and kicking around ideas last year, he played ‘Fire In The Dark’ for me and I immediately felt a connection to the song. The song talks about the hold the singer’s lover has on his heart and, to me, it mirrors my struggle with substance abuse. It’s a lonesome song but still makes you want to dance!”

“The first time I heard Gary, I was a fan. His vocals are velvet smooth yet, hard as steel. Whether he is singing a tender ballad or an ‘in your face’ barn burner, his vocals are spot on.” says Chris Myers, RBR Entertainment, COO.  “The single, ‘Fire In The Dark’ marks the return of this amazingly talented, soulful singer. I think Gary’s return will fill a void that has been missing in bluegrass music.”

Appearing on the track, produced by Billy Droze, is Gary Nichols on vocals and guitar, Seth Taylor on guitar, Josh Swift on dobro, Tim Crouch on bass, mandolin, and fiddle, Ronnie Stewart on banjo and John Meador on background vocals.

About Gary Nichols:

At the age of 21, he signed a publishing deal with the legendary Fame Recording Studios and Publishing company. This led to his first cuts as a songwriter and an artist deal with Mercury Records of Nashville. He made his first full length album for Mercury and in 2004 released two singles “I Can’t Love You Anymore” and “Unbroken Ground”. “Unbroken Ground” debuted in the Billboard Top 40 and was a multi-week top 15 video on CMT’s Top 20 countdown.

Gary departed from Mercury in 2007, and in late 2009 replaced Chris Stapleton as the front man for the Bluegrass band The SteelDrivers. He went on to make two albums with the band, ”Hammer Down” and “The Muscle Shoals Recordings”. The latter won a Grammy in 2016 for Bluegrass Album of the Year. That album was produced by Gary and the band along with guest producer and childhood friend, Jason Isbell.
