“CHRISTMAS IN THE MOUNTAINS” CLIMBS INTO THE “TOP 5O ALL-TIME” AIRPLAY DIRECT CHRISTMAS CHART

AirPlay Direct is pleased to announce that the Rebel Records classic Christmas collection, “Christmas In The Mountains” has now successfully climbed into the AirPlay Direct “Top 50 All-Time” Christmas Album Chart.

Although it is not generally known, even to long-time fans of bluegrass music, one of the very first records to appear on the fledgling Rebel Records label back around 1960 was a Christmas album. It was sold over the radio, without a cover, but it contained some fine bluegrass music by the recently formed Country Gentlemen and others.  One of these songs was destined to become a classic among bluegrass holiday recordings: the Country Gentlemen’s “Christmas Time Back Home”, featuring the lead vocals of the late and great John Duffey. Over 50 years and some 300 albums later, Rebel Records is proud to present this wonderful Christmas collection, which in fact contains several perennial favorites including the Gentlemen’s classic along with a generous number of excellent more recent recordings that we feel make up a truly memorable collection.
