Biography
Zero Gauge first came together in june of 2006. It consisted of Vern, the original drummer, smeagle, and the the original bass player. We played our first show at the Rave on June 24th and we’ve come a long way from there. Plagued with line-up changes, stolen and forgotten gear, internal failures, and just general hatred towards each other we have still managed to generate a strong local following.
We recorded our first 6 track cd shortly before our first lineup change in our hometown of Sheboygan. We lost the drummer and the bassist, but picked up bob and noid shortly after. We then commenced as a band for a little over a year before recording our new 4 song demo in Madison. Upon completion of the demo we lost bob and picked up DBudd. Zero Gauge will also be on a compilation CD in late summer of ’08. Now content with the lineup we are ready to move forward musically. We want to play as many shows as we can and spread the virus that is our music to as many people possible.
The music of Zero Gauge is hard to explain. We have generated our own genre, compulsive metal, and our direction is never set. We make music from our hearts, pumped straight out of our souls and our live performance is an extension of that. If you get to see a Zero Gauge show you will not forget it. The music can be therapeautic, entertaining, comforting, or a strange combination of the three.
We have only been a band for a short time, but we feel we have accomplished a little bit of recognition for ourselves. We have had some pretty impressive swag as well. From shirts, stickers, hats, and cd’s to underwear and thongs it’s awesome to see someone with ZG merch. Still, the most amazing thing is to see a song that we wrote sung back to us live at shows.
