Biography
Tim Erickson was born in Southern California into a musical family. At age 14 he got serious about guitar, taking lessons from ex-Ratt, and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Marq Torien, who he had met through a friend at the Hollywood Guitar Center.
Throughout his teens, and early twenties he played in several bands leading up to "The Smoking Section" formed with his younger brother Sean on lead vocals, session bassist Scott Ferguson, and drummer James Maddox. After playing a few shows together, the quartet recorded their self titled debut, recorded and mixed in just three days. Receiving regular radio play, and building a reputation for their high energy live shows, the band was on the verge of success when personal differences cut short their momentum, and ended the band.
Tim released his solo album "Play To Win" in June 2008, and received internet radio play across the United States, Canada, and Europe. The album also received outstanding reviews. Tim released the follow up "Bed Of Nails" on January 22nd 2010, which featured stronger song writing and a much more developed overall sound.
Tim is currently in the studio working on a brand new album "Over The Line" (due out in July 1st 2012) which is being called his best work to date. Continuing the more aggressive, heavy groove, guitar based approach that 2010's "Bed Of Nails" started, this album takes to the next level with catchy choruses, strong hooks, and a heavy dose of outstanding guitar work throughout. The buzz surrounding this album is growing fast!! For more information, links, news, and Tim's Official on-line store, visit... www.reverbnation.com/timerickson
