Biography
Johnny W. Gray was born April 9th, in the "Back Hills" of Tuscaloosa County, near Berry Alabama. Being the son of a farm-sharecropper, Johnny knows what it's like walking to school in the snow and rain with a bare knee sticking out of his jeans and holes in both shoes. John was raised on love and hard work, and that's the standards he lives by today. John was also raised on country music and that has been, and always will be, first and foremost in his life. In fact, John will take his guitar out of its case (which he has with him at all times), and play and sing for anyone or anywhere people will listen. Everyone who hears him has a feeling of total satisfaction. When this artist delivers a country song, there's no doubt left in anyone's mind that his heart and soul is in every line.
When Johnny was old enough to strike out on his own, he went to the windy city of Chicago Illinois. He worked during the day, and played and sang on the street corners and honky tonks by night. Like other artists, Johnny's inspiration came from artists such as Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Merle Haggard, and so on. He was determined that nothing would stop him from going to Nashville, Tennessee and record his music.
Johnny's hard work got him where he is today. He has music ranging from Classic Country, Gospel and Bluegrass. Currently, he wrote a song about coach Bear Bryant called, "Bama Walk of Fame", that is getting great recognition. The "Bama Walk of Fame" is also in the Bear Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Johnny has been recognized in Billboard Magazine and currently in Cash Box Magazine. People can go online and download his music. If you are a person who loves Classic Country, Gospel or Bluegrass you can be sure this artist has put his heart in his work.
Johnny sends his love and thanks to each and everyone who hears his music.
