Delmark Records is the oldest continuously operating jazz and blues independent record label in the United States: 67 years! Throughout its history, Delmark has released records by many of the most historical blues & jazz artists. We are committed to this legacy. While we continue creating new releases, we also maintain and revitalize Delmark’s amazing catalogue.
At 92, blues master Jimmy Johnson is a force of nature. He is living his third or fourth youth. This album contains some classics and five original songs Jimmy wrote in his 90’s…!!! Jimmy is backed by Chicago top musicians and he has been nominated for the BEST TRADITIONAL BLUES ALBUM category for the upcoming Blues Music Awards.
Johnny Iguana is a powerhouse. For this album he surrounded himself with a constellation of stars, including Billy Boy Arnold, John Primer, Lil’ Ed, Bob. Margolin, Billy Flynn and more.
Junior Wells, Magic Sam and Jimmy Dawkins are cornerstones of Chicago blues, and we make sure we have them available on LP, CD, downloads, streaming platforms and now even on reel to reel tape!
Jazz is a very important part of Delmark. Dee Alexander and the Metropolitan Jazz Octet made an intense and meaningful celebration of Billie Holiday. The Bradfield/Goldberg/Hall Trio album “General Semantics” has been welcomed as an ideal fusion of tradition and innovation, all at once. “Paquito Libre” features the great Paquito D’Rivera under a different light, wrapped in the deep soundscapes created by our band, Volcano Radar."
