"As we roll out of summer and into fall, we take a moment at CMH to revisit some of our favorite artists and songs. Looking at the past year, Vitamin String Quartet gives both summer hits and winter ballads their classic spin on the new release 'Vitamin String Quartet Performs the Hits of 2019'. If you’ve found Post-Malone and Swae Lee’s 'Sunflower' as inescapable as it is irresistible, you’re not alone. Vitamin String Quartet’s welcome take keeps the tone bright and proves a refreshing update to the earworm. Likewise, Billie Eilish’s 'Bad Guy' finds new life with a zany, cinematic arrangement. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s 'Shallow' on the other hand, is given breath again with the quartet’s lush, sentimental performance.

With a similar mindset, we are pleased to present a slew of bluegrass interpretations of classic indie, pop, and rock artists on albums here available to radio for the first time. We start with two albums covering hits of Taylor Swift’s early catalogue, giving her classic crossover-country sound a push towards a skilled, rootsy, and (dare we say) much more fun bluegrass jam. Likewise, classics by indie-pop darlings Mumford & Sons and The Shins become a

fingerpicking good time when their memorable melodies are given a new bounce. The last of our bluegrass tributes go to two of the most prominent punk groups of the late 90s and mid 2000s. The Offspring and Green Day’s most riotous tracks are given brilliant depth when slowed down to warm and emotive bluegrass ballads.

Finally, we shine light on Vitamin String Quartet’s past hits collections. These three albums revive the memorable melodies we forgot that we’d always enjoyed. We advise you to be careful with these; our string renditions are more than enough to lodge songs like 'Get Lucky', 'Thrift Shop', 'Happy', and 'Uptown Funk' in your head for months to come. Don’t worry though, the serene and emotive renditions of 'Say Something', 'Carry On' and 'Thinking Out Loud' should act as a proper pallet cleanser."
