"Since our inception in 2012, Plowboy Records has created some amazing projects and has pulled together an absolutely fascinating and talented roster of artists. Most are legends and pioneers in their particular genres and I am proud to say we have had two artists elected to The Country Music Hall of Fame following their releases on our label. We have also brought new bands into our fold as well as we wanted to bring the message of our label to those who may not be familiar with our overall mission, which is to ultimately promote my grandfather, the legendary singer, Eddy Arnold. 

For years, I have been dismayed at how his groundbreaking career in both country and pop had been looked over by those under a certain age. Eddy Arnold's pioneering in country music in the 1940s and 50s brought what was then called, "hillbilly music", to the cities and to the masses. His success helped drive record companies to Nashville and led them to build iconic studios on what is now Music Row. As unlikely as it might seem, he had an even bigger "second career" in the 1960s and 70s that took him worldwide and again changed the music industry in Nashville and he sold 85 million records doing so! This is why in 2012, we started recording an Eddy Arnold tribute album, that has artists as diverse as Jason Isbell to Peter Noone to Frank Black of The Pixies. We even have a New York Doll on the record all in the attempt at shining a fresh light on a remarkable artist who deserves credit for his achievements.  www.plowboyrecords.com
