Biography
Based in Salem, Oregon - the duo Phoenix consists of award winning songwriters Tim and Kathy Crosby - who have been performing together for well over 20 years.  Together they have collaborated on seven CD's - all of which remain in radio rotation, and are known far and wide for their songwriting abilities and high energy entertainment style.  In the words of Randy Shelton of Nevada's "Silver Star String Buster" magazine,  "Kathy looks to be 100 lbs soaking wet but that little gal can knock a song right out of the park."

Tim and Kathy have performed together from Las Vegas to Nashville, in large venues and small.  Now being compared to the likes of Willie Nelson, Gillian Welch, and David Rawlings - Phoenix rises in the joy of a fresh new sound that highlights the multi-instrumental talents of both musicians, and also focuses on a variety of vocal styles and abilities.  Now booking both live and virtual performances, be sure to also check out their website showcasing an expanded variety of their combined talents at https://www.phoenixhousepublishing.org

LINER NOTES:

Music is fun. Our goal with this recording was to give you the feel of good friends sharing their favorite songs together. All of the rhythm sounds on this production were made by items found right where you're sitting. A desk, a chair, finger snaps, the hambone (that's your body!). Get involved and have some fun with us!
Why Rise? Just like the Phoenix we humans tend to rise again and again - no matter what life throws at us. If we keep our hearts open, our new flights can be beautiful. Fly high. We believe in you.

Tim Crosby plays a 1992 Martin D-18 Vintage on this recording. He also plays a 5-string open back banjo made by Michael Card and a 1885 JLT fiddle.

Kathy Crosby plays a Taylor GS Mini Bass and a Taylor Mini GS Guitar on this recording.

Guest artist Peter Wells performs all organic rhythm - on whatever he found handy at the time!

Recorded, mixed, mastered and engineered at Big Red Studio in Corbett, Oregon under the direction of Billy Oskay.
