My Grandparents' House
MY GRANDPARENTS HOUSE music & lyric / Trisha Gagnon

Verse 1

A child went walking, on a coal black night

All by herself, and stayed out of sight

Her parents told her, to stay at home

She didn't listen, and left alone

VERSE 2

It wasn't long 'till her parents, the police too

Went out searching, trying to find a clue

How their little girl had vanished, right out of sight

Then her Mom remembered, what she'd said that night

CHORUS 1

I miss my Grandpa and Nona so dear

We have biscuits and tea, oh I wish they were here

I know I'm only four years old

And I'm not suppose to go

But I know my way to my grandparents house

VERSE 3

Up through the stores, in the village square

She saw a little red flashlight, for sale there

But she had no money, and journeyed on

'Till the lights from the town, were all but gone

VERSE 4

The rain fell harder, and the night was black

She couldn't see the way, and wanted to go back

She felt a little bit scared, and all alone

Until her neighbour found her

And brought her safely home

CHORUS 2

I miss my Grandpa and Nona so dear

We have biscuits and tea, oh I wish they were here

I know I'm only four years old

And I'm not supposed to go

But I know my way to my grandparents house

VERSE 5

The door opened, and to her surprise

Stood her Nona and Grandpa

And tears filled her eyes

She said Mom and Daddy

I'll never more stray

And I'll always listen, to what you say

CHORUS 3

I miss my Grandpa and Nona so dear

We had biscuits and tea,oh I wish they were here

I'm no longer four years old

And I'll always miss them so

I know my way to my grandparents house

I'll see them then at my grandparents house
