Bean Me Up
BEAN ME UP/ COFFEE SONG

Shirley Jackson, Socan Sept. © 2007

I wake up in the morning, those cobwebs in my head
The smell of fresh ground coffee can rise me out of bed.
Can’t seem to find both shoes, buttons missing off my shirt
But I’m only thinking Coffee as I head off to work.
Bean me up
So I can start my day
Bean me up
So I can earn some pay...

That morning traffic don’t bother me at all
As long as I got coffee steaming hot- big and tall.
Full bodied, fresh-ground roast, espresso through and through;
There’s nothing like a coffee to make me feel brand new.
Bean me up
So I can start my day
Bean me up
So I can earn some pay….

If I don’t get a pick-me-up I’m going to lose it soon.
Might need a cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon.
If I start to sloooooooooow down and things aren’t getting done;
Kick start me into action
There’s Java for everyone!
Bean me up
(Sax line)
Bean me up
(Sax line)
(Sax solo)

What better way to meet someone, there is no better line.
If you’re gonna buy the coffee honey, I’m gonna make the time.
Savior that aroma, smell it in the air,
Wake up and smell the coffee, make it all free trade and fair!
Bean me up
So I can start my day
Bean me up
So I can earn some pay….
Bean me up
So I can start my day
Bean me up
And I’ll be on my way……
