River Of Dust
River Of Dust

Shirley Jackson Socan, 2008

Mother Earth, Keep us safe and grounded.
Father, hear our cries.
There’s little children dying
And we’re still asking why.

Countries fighting over oil wells,
While others are wading through the mud.
There’s floods and rising waters
We’re still spilling our brother’s blood.

(Bridge)
There’s fire on the mountain
There’s lightning in the sky.
Can’t no longer find clear water
When the river’s are running dry.

Bass solo, Ukelele, Guitar, Saxophone

(Bridge)
There’s fire on the mountain
There’s lightning in the sky.
Can’t no longer find clear water
When the river’s are running dry.

Mother Earth, Keep us safe and grounded.
Father, hear our cries.
There’s little children dying
And we’re still asking why.

And we’re still asking why…..
And we’re still asking why……
