The SanFrancisco Chronicle Give the Riders a Thumbs up
The embodiment of personal freedom - life, liberty and rock n' roll - is undoubtedly the MeanStreet Riders. With the release of their debut album "High on the Hog," on Sept 13th, these motorcycle riding, freedom-loving songwriters have turned their passion for the freedom and the open road into an album of Country-tinged, pure American rock n' roll. Accompanying the release of their album is a rockumentary short film documenting their inspired story.

Ultimate Motorcycling Magazine Reviews the Riders
The connection of rock 'n' roll and biker culture has always been a cautious one. While both art forms embody the spirit of rebellion and freedom, there haven't been many popular songs with motorcycling as a direct subject matter. Instead, songs like Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" encapsulate the feeling of riding a motorcycle, without bikes being mentioned.

MeanStreet Riders, a group of musicians/singers/motorcyclists, are out to change all that.

The Walton Sun says the Riders offer sweet tunes for the ride
Two years ago, five motorcyclists set off on a ride from the beach up the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Along the way, the five took the opportunity to explore something they have in common besides the love of Harleys — songwriting.

On return, the men looked at what they had written along the way and said, "Hey, there might be a market for this."

Two years in the making, the resulting project — the "MeanStreet Riders" CD — is ready for release.

Shooters Images Gives their take on the Riders
This is a little out of my focus for this blog but a couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the publicist for a band called the Meanstreet Riders.I don’t really think of myself as a music critic and I’m sure the publicist doesn’t either, but in a past life I had a career as a musician.

Move over Stepenwolf The Riders are rollin in.
Move over John Kay, The Meanstreet Riders are riding in like rolling thunder. Not since Steppenwolf and "Born to be Wild" has a band captured the very essence of what being a biker is all about. Their debut

album, "High on the Hog", set for a July 2011 release, combines Classic southern Rock , a touch of country and lyrics that speak to heart and soul of everyone who lives to ride.

From the first note of High On the Hog, I was hooked. Every cut of this Album just drugged me in deeper. Closing my eyes, I could smell leather and exhaust, feel the vibrations of a Harley and the wind of a good ride. I had to know more about this band.

MidLife Mortorcycle Madness compares MSR to the Eagles
The Reviews are still coming in with Midlife Motorcycle Madness saying you cannot pigeonhole there music into one safe genre or make a comparison to one other single popular band. The closest I could come up with to maybe compare them to would be the Eagles.
Some of the songs have a definite Classic Rock style & sound and others have a more Modern Country or Americana type sound. You can hear all kinds of instruments in the MeanStreet Riders music from electric guitars to banjo. The vocals are solid with lots of harmony.

Easy Rider Ramblings says " With each track I became more interested"
With each and every track, I became much more interested. I hear influences that are similar to the Eagles, ZZ Top, Jackson Browne, Zack Brown Band, Tim McGraw, Rodney Adkins, Allman Brothers Band, Skynard (yes, Lynyrd Skynyrd) and even a bit of Chris Isaak. Every song written with emotion. Been there, done that feel throughout. It’s incredible to be able to relive some of my rides and experiences thru words and music. It makes me want to jump up, dance and ride

Cycle Matters Magazine says the Riders debut album is creative and engageing
Creative and engaging! That’s how we experienced High On The Hog, the debut album by the MeanStreet Riders rock music group. High on the Hog is music for dreaming about future adventures, rolling down the highway, and destinations. High on the Hog is ten tracts and approximately 43 minutes of music that resonates with one’s cerebral capacity for memories of things past and visions of things to come...on a motorcycle!

Each song is a story brought to life by excellent voices and instrumentation. Stories that take you to places you have been and to places you want to go.

The Riders and Radio Airplay
The Riders are having a great 2011 with their first requests from radio for their music. MSR has been blown away with our first four songs added by multiple formats of radio stations including Rock, Classic Rock, Americana, Country, Alternative Rock, Bluegrass, Alternative Country, AOR, Southern Rock, Hot Country, Blues and Adult Contemporary with more coming in daily.
This confirms our feeling that something’s been missing from radio for years. Music that’s written from real stories about the passion of pursuing personal freedoms with an edge of rebellion, realism, and a sense of adventure that seems to be missing from the music scene for a while.
