Biography
Singer songwriter Matt Parsons (born, Rugby, 5th August 1983) started recording ‘Inner Strength’ in 2007 at Far Heath Studios in Northamptonshire. Since the start of the project the songs took on a life of their own and developed into something quite extraordinary. After months of working on string arrangements Matt and producer Trystan Francis decided to record a full orchestra at Angel Studios, London to really capture the emotion and diversity that the album has to offer.
Matt started writing music many years ago and recorded a demo album in 2006. One song called ‘Better Off Alone’ was re-recorded for this album. It’s an up-beat, feel good, sing-along pop / rock track. Along with this track there are songs such as ‘You Light My Day’ and ‘Something’ which give you a similar sort of feeling. From feel good pop songs to ballads with soaring strings in songs such as ‘Save Me’ and ‘Everything’, to a punchy, unique riff and chorus in ‘Be Mine’ this album has a range of sounds which has been brilliantly recorded and thought out, with all songs being stand alone tracks. Partly recorded in one of the UK’s best recording studios with some of the best session musicians in the country, it has a classy sound that can be likened to that of Take That, John Mayer and James Blunt. Due to the range of influences and his distinctive voice, Matt has created an album and sound which has a unique edge that makes this album memorable and noticeable, which boasts individuality and a possible contender for any chart album.
