Biography
Labrador Dali matches the surrealistic songwriting of Robert Emmett with some of Chicago's finest talent: Lem Roby on lead guitar, Ruby Harris on violin, Marke Lester on drums and Gus Kenneth on bass. The sound that comes out of this seems to be a very modern take on classic rock, often blending in elements of jazz, country, blues as well as indie, alt-country, and a bit of jam-band.

The band's debut CD is the self-produced six-song EP 'Exile on Myspace.' Recorded and produced by Robert, Lem (also of Jack Salamander and Phil Circle Band) and Marke, this EP helped define both the band and its sound. The full band materialized with the addition of Chuck Pinney (Word Bongo, Chuck's Wagon) on drums and Chicago's own "King of the Blues Violin" Ruby Harris (Cornmeal, Phil Circle Band) in time for the EP's release on March 10th, 2008. This lineup played in and around Chicago on a regular basis until the untimely departure of Chuck in July of 2008.

After unsuccessfully trying out a number of drummers, Marke Lester answered the call to return to the drums and contacted former bandmate Gus Kenneth (Everest, Shiloh) about playing bass. This is the current lineup since October of 2008. Their sound is a swirling cacophony of symphonic chaos rooted to a firm and heavy rhythmic foundation. 'Exile On Myspace' is currently available at the band's website, http://labradordali.com, and at their shows. Currently Labrador Dali is working on their follow-up and gearing up for some local and regional touring.
