Biography

Through the years Jim Boyd's soulful voice and reflections have won him an international following. Many compare his style of music to an early Bob Dylan while others compare his rock-n-roll to that of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Marshall Tucker. He first began performing with many cover bands before performing with original music groups Xit, Greywolf and Winterhawk before branching out on his own.

He has shared the stage with groups from Motley Crue to Bonnie Raitt and his music has been included in movies such as the Miramax motion picture “Smoke Signals”, “Fallsaparts”, “FancyDancing”, and 2207 Productions “Trust Me”. He collaborated with writer and friend Sherman Alexie on a song that was included on the “Honor CD” with artists Bonnie Rait, The Indigo Girls, Toad the Wet Socket, Matthew Sweet and others. Some of his many nominations and awards have included “Record of the Year”, “Songwriter of the Year” and “Producer of the Year”.

His 2006 album “Live At Two Rivers” includes fourteen of Jim’s original compositions with a blend of folk rock, blues and rock-n-roll. The album earned him a nomination for “Best Duo or Group of the Year” and won “Best Rock Recording of the Year”, "Best Song/Single of the Year” for the song Inchelium, and “Best Short Form Video of the Year” for Inchelium. His current album “Blue to Bluegrass” recently won him “Artist of the Year” honors for 2008.

Jim Boyd is an award winning singer/songwriter and producer from the Lakes Band of the Colville Federated Tribes. He is a certified recording engineer with a business management degree. He is the owner of Thunderwolf Records and Rez-Ball Sportswear in Washington State.
