Biography
Multi-talented Errol Moore embodies a unique blend of pure musicianship, class and worldwide recognition as a singer, songwriter and guitar player. A veritable music authority, Errol has worked in nearly every facet of the music industry as, a producer, studio musician, recording engineer, studio manager, and
head of his own production company Island Gruve Music Works. His unique and skillful blending of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with popular R&B, Pop and Hip-
Hop rhythms has brought forth music that keeps people stepping all over the globe. Errol Moore delivers fresh and positive sounds each and every time.

Errol Moore was born in Kingston Jamaica. It was in New York however, where he began his musical career. In 1972, Errol moved in with his mother in Brooklyn, New York and shortly after picked up the guitar. He spent hours at home listening to all genres of music to include the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. Errol befriended several other Brooklyn musicians, which later evolved into the group Monyaka.

In a short time, Monyaka gathered a sizable following becoming known around the area as key progenitors of the Brooklyn reggae sound. As a result, the group
became the number one most requested backing band for any and all of the reggae musicians coming over from Jamaica to Brooklyn during the late 70s and early 80s. Monyaka backed the likes of Dennis Brown, Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, Marcia Griffiths, The Mighty Diamonds, Culture, The Meditations and Ken Boothe, to name a few. Monyaka also appeared as support act for Steel Pulse, Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff. The group toured the northeast and Midwest United States extensively, traveling to Canada and also performing at the Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica in 1984.

In 1987, Errol released his first solo single “Never Lock Me Out” on Epic Records. The single was taken from his the album “Unite” which was entirely recorded and produced in his own studio. In between this time and the release of his second solo album “It’s Time” in 2003, Errol worked extensively on tour as a guitarist for a number of reggae greats, including: Israel Vibration Inner Circle, Toots & the Maytals, Sly & Robbie, Beres Hammond and Judy Mowatt

Now, in 2009, Errol has just released his latest musical offering “Let Love In.” It is a 15-track masterpiece in positivity, which is entirely written, produced, by Errol Moore himself. It features a host of veteran musicians, including Monyaka’s Danny Miller on bass as well as Karl Wright, drummer for the popular group Tosh Meets Marley. Bass player Val
Douglas who played on Bob Marley’s “Africa Unite” among many others plays one track, “Touch is a Move”.

Errol’s primary goal is “...to bring the music to the people” & “…to unite the people through sound.”
Stardom and fame are the result of hard work, not the catalyst.”
