Hailing from the magical land of Southern California, Elfion began their journey in the early 80's. Inspired by metal greats of the day, high school friends Dave & Anthony started the band Mace in 1982, later changing the name to Elfion in 1984.
Influences were drawn from the likes of Iron Maiden, UFO, MSG, Queensryche, Warlord, Armored Saint, Fates Warning, Manowar, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Rush. Elfion ruled the local scene, playing clubs such as Red Onion, Peppers, Spearmint Rhino, and the Marquee.
Elfion disbanded in 1987 after guitarist Dave Gutierrez joined the USMC but resurfaced upon his return in 1991. Starting from scratch, the new direction of the band was based on four guys who could not quit their day jobs to pursue a serious music career. A 3 song demo was recorded in 1993 but the reunion was short lived as the band folded once again in 1994.
Third time's a charm, they say and Elfion was reborn 12 years later in 2006. With a remastered demo, a CD in the works and bigger & better gigs on the horizon, The Elves are geared for battle. The band has also garnered a lot of internet radio airplay and continues to grow a loyal fan base.
Elfion recently opened for thrash metal giants, Testament and again for Overkill. Don't miss them on the Project Independent Showcase Tour at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in West Hoolywood on October 5, 2008.
