The Way Love Grows
The Way Love Grows - (c) Chuck Schaeffer
Worked down the road from a beauty in a gallery
Said hardly a word to the girl she was Trouble indeed
‘Til a note on the store door provided the strength I need
Marshall Tucker sold-out in Butler Memorial Day
Parked at Roserne’s Liquors bummed a ticket from a parking valet
Sea of motorcycles, thinking I was dead
Total paranoia running through my head
Off to find a needle in a haystack for what lies ahead
Hugging, squeezin,
Kissing, pleasing
Laughing for whatever reason
Nothing bringing you down
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
So I swallowed the lump in my throat, walked through the gate
No turning back now, hoping for a good twist of fate
Forty minutes later my mind would be freed
Walking on the water, she parted the seas
We hugged and we danced and we sang, now Can’t You See
Hugging, squeezin,
Kissing, pleasing
Laughing for whatever reason
Nothing bringing you down
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
So we drove out of Butler,
Didn’t stop to think
Stayed at a cottage,
Couldn’t sleep a wink
Tickling turned to kissing
and sweet reminiscing of love
Hugging, squeezin,
Kissing, pleasing
Laughing for whatever reason
Nothing bringing you down
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
It’s how the world gets around
That’s The Way Love Grows
