Biography
Donald and his brother Reginald (Reggie) Siler, lead vocalists, writers, background singers and musicians of B.W.R.D., started singing gospel music at an early age. The Siler brothers, eldest of five children, are preacher’s kids. Their Father, the late E. B. Siler and their mother Mozella founded and pastored the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. Donald and Reggie began singing in the Greater New Hope Choir where their mother, First Lady Mozella a musician and singer of the gospel herself, trained, coached and encouraged them in the music ministry.
In their teens, Donald and Reggie traveled with various gospel music ministry groups, later forming their own group and honed their musical talents and gifts into what they are today.
Elder Donald Siler is the founder and Pastor of The Real Truth Gospel Music Ministry Group from Perris, California; and recently nominated for and winners of the 2006 Los Angeles Black Music Awards for Gospel Group of the Year.
Elder Weston C. Lauder Jr., tenor, lead vocalist, musician and Associate Pastor of the Trinity Mission COGIC, is also a preacher’s kid. He began his career in gospel music over 26 years ago. Elder Lauder first began singing with the Gospel Players of San Bernardino California. He later joined and blended his smooth rich tenor vocals to the soulful, spirit filled sounds of The Real Truth gospel group of which he also serves as Vice President.
Billy McByrd, writer, musician, tenor and lead vocalist, yet again a preacher’s kid, began singing at a young age in his parent’s Chicago Illinois church. Billy’s parents, the Reverend William and Elizabeth McByrd, pastor and founders of Our Little St. John Missionary Baptist Church, did not nestle in to keep their music ministry only among their home based church body but did as Matthew 28:19 says: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…” William & Elizabeth gathered their family, Billy and his three siblings into The McByrd Family singing group and took their ministry to the road singing throughout Chicago, Texas, Arkansas and various other states. Billy moved to Southern California with his sisters. Three years later he met and became best friends with Reggie Siler. Together, Billy and Reggie have composed and recorded several songs, a fraction of which comprises this CD.
