Fields Of Green
Dawn has come, I can feel the wind
The auburn sky no longer warms my skin
Before I close my eyes to sleep
I dream of our love and begin to weep
Oh how I felt when you took my hand
And through those fields of green we ran
You fell into my arms
Where you felt no harm
For so many years and years and years
And how love was in the air
Butterflies flew from here to there
Daisies grew so fresh and new
And I was there, there with you
In those fields of green
Morning sun glazed over the blades so thin
Under arms of oak time is where’d we begin
Your eyes gave me the words I had to hear
A promise to which we would both adhere
Oh how love was in the air
Butterflies flew from here to there
Daisies grew in newborn bloom
And I was there, there with you
In those fields of green
Oh this clouded mind needs relief of rain
To somehow relieve this pain
Roll in the thunderclouds
Then hold still on this scene
And how I felt when you took my hand
And through those fields of green we ran
Oh how love was in the air
Butterflies flew from here to there
Daisies grew so fresh and new
And I was there, there with you
In those fields of green
