Hot Coffee
My mom wrote this in the late 70's. She was gigging with her band, Joy Spring, and often finding herself driving home in the wee hours. She was torn between her life as a jazz singer, and her life as a mom, wife and psychological examiner. She eventually stopped touring to the degree that she had been, but continued to sing locally, and was able to do everything else she wanted to do - which also included writing a novel, a children's story, heading the arts commission, getting involved in politics, etc. Yeah. She was quite the mentor. I was so lucky to have her as an amazing woman as a role model, but also a loving mom who I miss every day. Mom, I love you three...
