Jane Street
Men who write poetry stop by to see women in black
They all look comfortable wearing the skin that they’ve got
City streets called my name, oh maybe lifetimes ago
The sidewalk’s a gallery hosting a VIP show
And you can inhale romance like a cigarette
Your feet will float to freedom the closer that you get

To Jane Street, to live on Jane Street
And feel that backbeat on the 22nd floor of
Jane Street, Oh Jane Street
To know what life means
Well it looks like they know
Those that call Jane Street home
I’ve got a few blocks to go

Is it a month from now or only two steps away?
I’m on a magic ride. How far is today?
The streets are all quiet now or so they’d have you believe
Streetlamps are gossiping, subways are lettin’ off steam
And you can inhale passion like an autumn breeze
The Universe is pleading with you to find the key

To Jane Street, to live on Jane Street
And feel that backbeat on the 22nd floor of
Jane Street, Oh Jane Street
To know what life means
Well it looks like they know
Those that call Jane Street home

It’s clear I wear my expectations high
Like the buildings wear the sky
People tell me every streets the same
To which I say, why not Jane?

Is it a month from now or maybe lifetime’s ago?
I’m on a magic ride, I’m gonna be in that show
