Biography
“Love of a Woman” is the second Pinecastle release from the hard-driving, popular North Carolina band, The Bass Mountain Boys. This new release reinforces the fact that the boys are not only showmen, but true musicians in the fullest sense of the word. This versatile project runs the gamut from the old gospel quartet sound of “It Won’t Be Long” to the country sounds of Merle Haggard’s “You Don’t Have Far to Go” and Porter Wagner’s classic “Big Wind,” both of which are effectively “bluegrassified.” Instrumentally, the band shines on such tunes as “Little Darlin’ Pal of Mine,” “Livin’ Like a Fool” and “Mountain Song” – a Bass Mountain original. This is traditional bluegrass North Carolina style that’s played with skill and enthusiasm.
