Jonathon Baker
Jonathon Baker
Written by: Robert Graham
Jonathon Baker was bullied at school every day and they called him names.
Names that were hurtful.
But the teachers would look the other way.
Jonathon Baker hid in the toilets at lunchtime alone and scared.
No one to talk to.
He left school as soon as he could.
Jonathon dreamed and Jonathon schemed - one day he'd really show them.
Stuck in the loo - he hadn't a clue.
Then one day he finally made his mind up just exactly what to do.
Jonathon Baker lived with his mum in the back of a dingy pub.
They never had money.
They never had much of anything.
Jonathon Baker worked in a shoe shop on Thursdays and Saturdays.
His mum drank his wages. His father left ages ago.
Jonathon planned - one day he would stand up on his own two feet.
Jonathon knew his dreams would come true.
One day he finally made his mind up just exactly what to do.
Jonathon Baker fancied a girl named Colleen he would see at the pub.
Hie mum knew her brother.
She know him intimately.
Jonathon Baker invited Collen for a drink or perhaps a show.
Took him months just to ask her.
Took her seconds to laught in his face.
Jonathon cried. He felt deep inside that his heart was slowly breaking.
If he was you you'd think it too.
One day he finally made his mind up just exactly what to do.
Who are we to judge a man for wanting something better?
Someone like Jonathon could be your friend or neighbour.
Would you be suprised if everyone dies - the horrid people in his life?
It's easy to be nasty.
Sometimes it's worthwhile to be nice.
Jonathon Baker, cool and collected one night wrote a list of names: Colleen and her brother. And his drunken mother.
Jonathon Baker included some teachers and bullies he knew from school.
The list was kept secret. No-one else needed to know.
His plan was so grand.
He had everything planned.
He couldn't wait till morning.
A feeling he knew - a feeling so true.
Now that he'd finally made his mind up just exactly what to do.
No-one can deny it.
Jonathon Baker had planned an unspeakable crime.
It was going to be nasty.
A devious dastardly show.
You're probably wondering if Jonathon had enough gumption to follow through.
Well wonder no longer.
Cos Jonathon's songs' nearly through.
The tale ended thus: he got hit by a bus.
Just meters from his front doorstep.
If I may be so bold - let me warn young and old.
Remember to always look both ways before you cross a busy road.
