Save Ourselves
Save Ourselves
(Written by Judy Wing)
We’d already said goodbye
You’d moved into your head and so had I
Agree to disagree just to keep the peace
Until all we have left are the secrets we keep
So we save ourselves and hope that love will come again
To lift us up and redeem all the dreams we’ve slain
All the mess we made to save ourselves.
We both knew that we needed more
Neither one could find the door
We lived in a world of words with nothing to say
Just a pair of heroes who couldn’t save the day.
So we save ourselves and hope that love will come again
To lift us up and redeem all the dreams we’ve slain
All the mess we made to save ourselves...
From crying, from trying over and over again
From living, just giving the same excuses.
We both need to move along
And find a road that feels like home
What held us together for so long
Is still inside you when you want to be strong.
So we save ourselves and hope that love will come again
To lift us up and redeem all the dreams we’ve slain
All the mess we made to save ourselves.
