They met one night when the moon was beaming
They had to pinch each other to know they weren’t dreaming
It was all love and lust without a dose of reason
Their hearts were sitting ducks; it was open season
They didn't give the future one thought
Was like a virus they both caught
It must’ve happened that time she was back-seat driving
But fate was waiting over the next horizon
Nine months later she delivered her package
Love’s little angel from that two-heart wreckage
They were already buying baby clothes
He figured it’s time to propose
It was a sunny June day when they tied the knot
They took a last minute turn around the parking lot
The preacher had to wonder where it all was heading
Not the bride and groom and the Baby At The Wedding
The groom got nervous when the fiddlers started fiddling
The bride swayed when she walked. she couldn’t keep from giggling
When they got to the part about the bride and forever
The groom just smiled, said, “Don’t you think I’d better”
It was a looser then the mamas would have liked
The honeymoon before the wedding night
And though they all admit to a good luck drink
When the vows were said, they swear the baby winked
They couldn’t help feel they were aiding and abetting
The bride and groom and the Baby At The Wedding
They smiled and said they should’ve reached the altar faster
And the white of her gown was sort of alabaster
But not the white of the lace on the crib or the bedding
Say the bride and groom and the Baby At The Wedding
Still they could beat the odds, at least three hearts were betting
The bride and groom and the Baby At The Wedding
