Laura Monk & High Cotton at SMITHS OLDE BAR - JANUARY 16TH
The Alpharetta based band, Laura Monk & High Cotton bring their unique sound -‘Americana with a twist’ - to one of Atlanta's favorite venues: The Atlanta Room at SMITH'S OLDE BAR. LMHC will be performing music from their critically acclaimed CD, ‘PICTURES’, as well as new material from their upcoming CD.
The band spent most of 2009 performing throughout the Southeast but rarely this close to home. Excited to be starting the New Year this close to home and in this venue the band is sure to provide an energetic and surprising show (tacky prizes included!).
Anchored by the soulful and devilishly passionate voice of Laura Monk, LMHC creates a dynamic mix of ‘can’t get them out of my head’ melodies and provocative lyrics in their original songs - stir that together with an organic blend of harmony, rhythm guitar, solid bass, complimentary percussion and tasteful lead guitar and you get personality, attitude and a full bale of High Cotton!
