Chopo
Jack Thorp traveled the west writing and collecting cowboy songs and poems in the late 1800's and early 1900's. He is best known for writing the classic "Little Joe The Wrangler" but I'm partial to Chopo. Of course Chopo was the name of Jack Thorp's favorite horse, a black Morgan-Arabian cross which he wrote the song about and claims saved his life on more than one occasion. The bond between cowboy (or cowgirl) and their horse can be just as strong as family or a close friend. I think this is a great tribute to what I'm sure was a great horse.
