High above the fast moving city, with the sirens and lights that never stop
let's make a date, let's tempt fate, I'll meet you on the rooftop
beyond the reach of hustlers and cops

We'll set our sights on the end of the day, and see what the fading light has to say

We'll have a few drinks in the light of the fading sun
we'll give all the cabbies names, imagine where they live
we've both seen what this old town can take, now let's see what it can give

And after a while we'll slow down, we'll shift gears
and turn up the radio and toast each new star as it appears

it's having you here and hearing all the things you have to say
