Biography

The last few years for Jay could be defined as a ‘Job-like’ experience. . . becoming disabled . . . marriage over . . . kids gone . . . loss of job . . . every possession he had was taken through a series of difficult trials.
Through months of prayer, Jay felt that the Lord was telling him to reclaim his family. Through a series of what only could be called ‘divine direction’ Jay moved to Nashville. His goal was to be united with his children.

Many people move to Nashville to follow their dream of becoming singers . . . songwriters . . . even hoping that they might be ‘the next big thing. . .’ Jay who is an accomplished singer/songwriter never thought that music would play a part in his life, here in Nashville. As months passed, Jay started to write and play again. Inspired by the blessings he’s seen through his difficult situation.
The major blessing is being united with his children.

As an accomplished and versatile singer, songwriter, and musician, Jay's passion for music was ignited 41 years ago at age 6 when he sang his first solo. This experience launched his musical career. Jay became involved in chorus, barbershop quartet, swing singers and solo ensemble. He has won numerous awards in singing competitions.
While attending University of Wisconsin Whitewater he sang with the top choir.

When Jay was a 21 year old student in college, he picked up the guitar. His college roommate taught him a few chords. . . just the basics and Jay would play for 4 -5 hours a day. Within months he was playing in public.
He has been writing and composing music for 21 years. His musical influences include Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Eagles.

Jay felt a call on his life 13 years ago to play for God's glory. Some of his present favorites are Mark Schultz, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me & Matt Moore.

Jay has a passion for God's word and expresses it with a contemporary blend of praise and worship. His music touches hearts . . . change lives and draws you into a deep, worship experience.

He is dedicated to bringing honor and glory to Jesus Christ. For Jay there is no greater joy then to use the gifts and talents entrusted to him for God’s glory.

Jay's prayer is that the music will break bondages, destroy yokes and lead people to the Lord Jesus Christ. His desire is to glorify God in song.
