I have just listened to New River Line's new CD and enjoyed it so much that I had to immediately listen to it again. What a
great collection of original music from a group of great song writers and musicians. Some of the compositions are down to
earth songs that touched my heart and soul of when I was a little boy growing up in North Carolina. I only wish I could write
songs this well. It doesn't get much better than this! - Lou Reid

New River Line would like to thank: Ron Stewart for his hard and creative work on this project, Lou Reid for all of his help
and support, Bill Hudson at College Hill
Music and Guitars for his dedication and support, Ben Cole and Elizebeth Randell at GHS Strings, Scotty Roberts for not only
doing such great graphic work, but for being a great friend as well. Also thanks to Randall and Marcia Deaton at Lonesome
Day Studios. New River Line would also like to send a special thanks to Ted McIntosh (aka Zeke Buttons) for his continuing
hard work.

Mike would first of all like to thank Ron Stewart for doing such a fine job in producing our CD, he was so easy to work with.
I also would like to thank my wife Stephanie and my two sons, Jesse and Dustin, for their support and thanks to my parents,
Vester and Brenda Parker, for standing behind me and getting me into the Bluegrass music.

Ronnie would like to thank family and friends for their continued support.

Jerry would first like to thank God for the talent that he has given us. I would also like to thank my grandfather Jess
Stamper, my uncle Scotty Roberts, my father in law
Dewey Cole (for teaching me dobro licks), my mother Sue Chaney for the harmony notes, and also my wife and kids, Kim, Niki, and Jerry Von for their patience during my learning and our bands travel.

Josh would like to thank his family and friends for their support as well as Earl Scruggs, Jim Mills and JD Crowe for their
inspiration.

Dave would like to thank the good Lord for giving me the gift of music, which has brought countless hours of enjoyment to my
life. I remind myself each and everytime that I step onto a stage just how lucky I am. I would like to thank my family, my
mom for her unwaivering support throughout the years. My sister Faye and all of her family, my brother Roy and sis in law
Barb, my sister Darlene and brother in law Jan, who have been such a great help to this band over the last couple of years.
My uncle Ken and his wonderful wife Loretta for everything they do for us. And especially my wonderful wife Shirley for all
of her support, my four beautiful daughters, Cortnea, Kandice, Mikka, and Lauren, and my mandolin pickin son Chaston (dad's
favorite pickin partner).

(pic of Scorcher and Uncle Ken Carroll - circa 1959)
This is a song that means a lot to me because it is a trip back to my youth, and a much simpler time in my life. Many of the
lyrics in this song, tell about my early teen years growing up in the hills of Eastern Ky. Just out the road about a mile or
so from our house lived an old fellow named Arvil "Scorcher" Carroll. I went to work for Scorcher when I was 14 years old, in
tobacco fields, cutting firewood, or whatever would make me a few folding dollars. If you mention Scorcher's name just about
any-where in the eastern half of Carter Co. you can bet someone has a story to tell about the man. I'll never forget the day that I was housing tobacco for Scorcher, along with two or three of his nephews. Scorcher fired his nephew Don three times
before Don could get down out of the barn. Great memories. - Dave

I get lots of ribbing over this tune because of the topic. But in reality, a friend of mine gave me the line "The love of my
life, is another man's wife" and the rest is history. Lots of folks can relate to this song, but few will admit it. - Dave

(pic of coal miners) - This is a photo taken on April 19, 1940 of coal miners in Harlan County, Kentucky, one of which is my
wifes grandfather- Dexter Blair - Ronnie
I had written the line "grab what you can get out of the house the roof is coming down" and really liked the melody but my
first attempt at the verses failed miserably. Several months later, probably in wake of the Sago Coal Mine disaster, it hit
me to change "house" to "mine". I called Dave and he had the verses written probably before I laid the phone down. - Ronnie

We all felt strongly that we wanted a sacred song on the record, but wanted something original at the same time. I was home

I wanted to write something around Em chord for dobro because there's not many, if any, tunes written in this key on dobro. A
native American sound kind'of came to me, the title became Crazy Horse! - Jerry

We were nearly finished recording, and had more than enough good songs to finish the album, but we felt that we needed a song that was just a little different than the other tunes on the record. I went home, got out my guitar, and this is what came
out. - Dave
